09. Canada Wilderness Adventure

tender

The adventure of a lifetime awaits you.

We immerse ourselves in the almost untouched wilderness of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. One with nature and the horses we ride up the river valley of the South Boundery Trail and listen to the peaceful munching of the horses at night, the sound of the river in the background. I lie under my tarp, in my sleeping bag and look into the starry night sky. My million star hotel.

We set off today around midday, 5 pack horses and 11 riders. The patient cold-blooded horses climb the path that leads over the Nigel Pass at a leisurely pace and it seems that nothing could disturb them. Their stoic calmness is transferred to me and I forget the everyday life of my otherwise so rhythmic world. At the top of the pass we experience the incredible expanse of this landscape that stretches endlessly into the sky. After a good 5 hours we come to a camp where grass grows for the horses and we find a fire pit next to the river. We have to unsaddle the horses, collect wood and get the fire going. Luckily we have experienced guides with us who know every move. Soon the water in the pot for tea is bubbling and we make ourselves comfortable on the tree stumps.
